PDP' LEGISLATOR LUKMON ADELEYE APPOINTS PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED PERSON AS PERSONAL ASSISTANT

Ogun State Assembly Minority Leader Lukman Olalekan Adeleye has appointed Adisa Isiaka, a deaf and dumb individual, as a Special Assistant to his office.

Announcing the appointment in Abeokuta, Adeleye, who represents Odogbolu State Constituency, said, “I decided to appoint a deaf and dumb individual from the Ogun Central Senatorial District to call attention to the needs of the physically challenged persons and the necessity to protect them.” He believes his action will help “restore the dignity of the people living with disabilities in the society.”

Adeleye urged Nigerians to “specially protect the physically challenged individuals in the society and be willing to give them a sense of belonging at all times.”


The appointment letter, personally signed by Adeleye and obtained by our correspondent, instructs Isiaka to resume duties on May 1st, 2024. The letter reads, in part: “I have the pleasure to inform you that you have been appointed as my Special Assistant, based on our previous discussion. The appointment is based on your knowledge, experience, hard work, honesty, and loyalty. I expect you to utilize these qualities to face the challenges of your office and help us achieve our goals.”

The appointment takes immediate effect. Your duties will include the usual duties of the office and any other duties assigned to you. This appointment may be terminated with one month’s written notice or one month’s salary in lieu of notice. The appointment will automatically end when the 10th assembly’s tenure concludes in June 2027.

Adeleye has previously appointed ten aides to promote political participation and empowerment among his constituents.

"Let us strive to promote peace and development through our actions" Temitayo Agemo-Okuboyejo

Temitayo Agemo-Okuboyejo, the founder of the Renaissance Project, has called upon Christians in Ogun State and across Nigeria to embrace a deeper sense of love for one another as they come together with fellow believers worldwide to observe Easter Sunday and Monday.

A UK-trained engineer, Agemo-Okuboyejo emphasized the significance of Jesus Christ’s resurrection, highlighting it as a demonstration of the power of divine love, faith, and redemption. She encouraged the people of Ogun State to embody the spirit of selflessness by caring for one another in all aspects of life.

“Let us not forget that the message of love from scripture remains highly relevant for us today as a unified community in the Gateway State. Let us strive to promote peace and development through our actions,” she expressed.

In a press release made available to  newsmeb, Agemo-Okuboyejo stressed the importance of fostering a society rooted in love and unity, emphasizing that such harmony accelerates progress and development that benefits all members of the community.

Recognizing the unique nature of this year’s celebrations for adherents of both Islam and Christianity in Nigeria, Agemo-Okuboyejo urged citizens to display increased patriotism, citing it as integral to realizing a society that aligns with everyone’s aspirations, especially in the face of current economic challenges.
