“Akinlade is the next Governor of Ogun State". -Former Ogun LG Boss.

A former chairman of Imeko Afon Loacal Government Area in Ogun state, Hon. Saka Isiaka has stated that one of the leading PDP Governorship aspirants Hon. Abiodun Isiaq Akinlade will take over the mantle of leadership of the Gateway State from the incumbent Senator Ibikunle Amosun by 2015. Isiaka stated this in Imeko while receiving the aspirant (Akinlade) at a consultation forum meeting he had with leaders and executives of PDP at Imeko-Afon and Yewa North Local governments.

Hon. Isiaka stated “Akinlade is the next Governor of Ogun State, we know him very well, he is tested, trusted and very reliable. He has shown traits of a good leader in his previous and current position, without any sentiment I wish to state that we the people of Imeko-Afon are ready to throw out weight behind him"

While addressing the leaders of the party, Hon Akinlade who is a third term member of Federal House of Representatives, thanked the leaders and the party faithfuls in the Local Government for their unflinching supports over times. “I appreciate the massive turn out of the people of Imeko Afon to welcome us to this great forum, it is obvious that PDP is well loved by the people and I am happy to be a member of this great party, you love me and I am happy to know that you are all ready to support our readiness to sign a NEW PACT with the people of Ogun State and put a stop to the close to four decades marginalization of our people"

Speaking further, the guber hopeful implore the members of the party and entire people of Imeko-Afon Local Government Area to participate fully in the coming issuance of Permanent Voters Card (PVC) and continuous voters registration (CVR) as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission which is due to hold across the state in few days time. While speaking, Akinlade stated that "I love to implore you all to turn out en-masse in few weeks time for the forthcoming voter registration exercise where the permanent voter’s card will be distributed and new voters will be registered”.

Also present at the Party Consultative Meeting includes, Hon. Waliu Taiwo; a former commissioner for works, Hon. Kunle Salako; former commissioner for Health, Hon. Adijat Adeleye and hon. Samson Onademuren who are members of the Ogun State House of Assembly respectively, political leaders across the Imeko-Afon 7 Yewa North.
