The legislative arm of Ipokia LGA in Ogun State have suspended three of its members indefinitely.
Our findindings gathered that the three suspended members had in the early hours of Wednesday broke into the legislative office of the House leader.
One of the members of the House confirmedboth incidents saying the action taken against the three erring members were in order.
"In consonance with Ogun State Local Government Law 2000, The leadership of Ipokia Legislative Council rising from their meeting today Wednesday announced the suspension of three (3) of her members for alleged impersonation and breach of legislative process.
Their names include:
Hon. Ogunleye Elijah Adeyanju
Hon. Tawakalitu Ojo
Hon. Piponsuhu Inumeh Joseph"
According to the lawmakers, these rebellious 3 had this morning brought Ipokia legislative council to disrepute by summoning a sitting of the house without the knowledge of the House Leader or his Deputy, holding a legislative session outside the hallowed chamber, forcefully breaking into the House Leader's office and Illegally proclaiming themselves as the new leadership of the legislative council.
In a Notification letter, signed by the Leader, Hon.Tayo Oyekanmi and 6 other Councillors, the lawmakers said they are acting in consonance with the Ogun State Local Government Law.
They announced that the rebellious three (3) are hereby suspended till further notice based on the aforementioned acts of gross misconduct.
