THE POWER OF A GIRL
The power of a girl is so potent it can propel any man to achieve anything. What the mind can conceive, can equally be achieved is the popular saying but with the backing of a girl who is cheering by the sidelines the task gets more fuel, naturally.
I have had to avoid the shame of defeat in several pursuits and had to work either extra hard or smarter so as not to disappoint the girl in my life.
About four decades ago, I was always being bullied by a classmate. He was tall and huge, what he lacked in intelligence was made up in physical strength and he was always terrorizing some of us. I was always his target because I had the ears of the girls in our class. Every girl likes to play with me because I was friendlier and help them out with their assignments.
On a fateful day, one of those days when students were less busy. I walked in to a discussion where the Bully was the subject of some jokes. I mistakenly laughed along with others and that was the opportunity that my tormentor was looking for. He challenged me to a fight and everyone clapped. I saw my girlfriend in the corner of my eyes. She looked worried. It would have been an unforgivable embarrassment if I had walked away and the idea of confronting the monster was suicidal. I opted for the suicide!
We were taken to a corner of the school. A circle was quickly formed and I was pushed to the center.
My girl whispered that she loved me to my ears and her sexy voice seemed to have injected power in to my blood stream. I quickly figured out that boxing would be better than wrestling because of his size. So it all began.
From the way he folded his fists and raised them I knew he wasn't gifted in the skills. I tested him with a light jab and it landed on his lips, bloods gushed out quickly. The crowd roared into life. He became so angry and charged furiously forward with a deadly blow, I dodged it and he lost his balance. I took advantage of that split second to pack all my powers behind my left fist and delivered it to his jaw. He fell on the ground with a loud thud. I jumped on him and started raining flurry of blows on his face only to see him crying. The crowd went roaring even more. I had won. My David had defeated his Goliath.
The power of a girl did it for me. The lesson stuck in my memory till today. I have achieved so many impossible tasks just to please the girl in my life. I realized that many men have gone to the battle fields to prove their manliness. Some return victorious while some return defeated.
As you face that challenge today, go all out and put in your very best. A girl, lady or woman is already backing you up with her prayers and best wishes. She could be your daughter, girlfriend, wife or mother. I wish you victory.
Remain blessed.
